Your pet’s health and safety have always been their top priority. This is why they are proud to have a full time Nutritionist and Agronomist on the Big Country Raw team. Julie Lauzon, agr, M. Sc., is responsible for the formulation of our recipes and ensuring that they meet nutritional requirements – which includes laboratory analysis on ingredients, for all macro and micronutrients, as well as amino and fatty acids.
Julie uses the Genesis Food Formulator, which is the industry gold standard when it comes to quality and accuracy. All of the ingredients for a recipe are entered into Genesis and are measured against NRC guidelines – this helps us to calculate the appropriate amount of each ingredient required in a recipe. Once the recipe meets the requirements, the full recipe is tested again to ensure it matches closely to the software results.
These steps are the only way to truly guarantee the nutritional value of our food. They do not cut corners when it comes to the quality of our food.
